It’s a thoroughly enjoyable book – appealing believable characters and interesting plot set in a richly imagined alternative reality. What did you like about this audiobook? The cast was great even if the story wasn’t the best. Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this? The voice actors are superb, especially McAvoy and Cumberbatch, but I did drop one performance star for the somewhat scratchy quality of the sound effects. It’s about memory and magic and survival, about the power of stories and the darkness inside each of us.
